I sat down to watch - to watch the cable TV news.

I wanted to get caught up - caught up on the latest views.

    The reporter seemed to have - to have an unfortunate tic.

    I thought that perhaps his brain - his brain might be sick.

In the middle of a sentence he would repeat - repeat a word or two.

That’s something that normal people - normal people just don’t do.

    I thought that maybe he gets paid - gets paid by the word.

    But that idea is completely - completely absurd.

I suppose I should not worry - not worry about the causes

of the reporter’s - the reporter’s annoying little pauses.

    I just sit back and let my brain - my brain go numb,

    but, Lordy!, this guy just sounds - just sounds so dumb.
